Introduction

The International Conference on Asian Language Processing (IALP) is the flagship conference of the Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS). It is a series of conferences with a unique focus on Asian Language Processing. The conference aims to advance the science and technology of all the aspects of Asian Language Processing by providing a forum for researchers in the different fields of language study to meet. IALP conference series has a long history, which dates back to its first event ICCC in 1986. Over the decades, the IALP conference has developed into one of the important conferences on Language Processing conference in Asia. Since 2008, IALP has traveled to many Asian cities including Chiang Mai (2008), Singapore (2009), Harbin (2010), Penang (2011), Hanoi (2012), Urumqi (2013), Kuching (2014), Suzhou(2015), Tainan(2016), Singapore(2017), Bandung(2018), Shanghai(2019), Kuala Lumpur (2020, online), Singapore (2021, online), Singapore and Shenzhen(2022), Singapore (2023), Hohhot (2024), and Kuching (2025). It has greatly helped to promote the research of Asian Language Processing in the region. COLIPS has been in collaboration with IEEE in the organization of the conferences. IEEE Singapore and other local chapters have served as technical co-sponsors. The proceedings have been published by IEEE since 2009.

IALP 2026 will be held on 16-18 October 2026 in Beijing, China. The event will be organized by Minzu University, China and Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS), Singapore. The event is technically sponsored by IEEE Singapore SMC Chapter. We cordially invite you to submit papers to this year’s event. The topics of the conference cover all aspects of Asian Language Processing, including, but not limited to natural language processing, spoken language processing, linguistics, language education, etc. Accepted papers will be presented in one of the oral sessions or poster sessions as determined by the program committee.

We are honored to have invited the following distinguished keynote speakers: Prof. Hung-yi Lee (National Taiwan University) and Prof. Jingxia Lin (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore)

1. Registration

  • Fee table — Early Bird (before 14 September 2026) / Regular (15 September 2026 onwards):
    • Full Registration: Non-Member SGD800 → 900; Member SGD700 → 800
    • Student Registration: Non-Member SGD500 → 600; Member SGD400 → 500
  • What’s included: Full registration covers ALL technical sessions, the banquet and social events, and allows ONE paper to be registered; Student registration covers the same access but NO paper

3. Presentation Format

  • Combined oral + poster format: each accepted paper gets a 5-minute oral presentation (2–5 slides, no separate Q&A) plus a 30-minute poster display and discussion; both parts are mandatory, and at least one registered author must attend both
  • Poster specs: board is 80 cm wide × 200 cm high; recommended A0 portrait (~80 × 120 cm); double-sided tape provided by the conference
  • Language: all oral presentations and posters must be in English
  • On-site requirements: arrive at the session room ≥10 minutes early and upload slides to the conference laptop before the session; mount the poster before the session starts and remove it promptly afterwards
