The 2nd Nanyang Speech Technology Forum Best Student Paper Awards

COLIPS, APSIPA Singapore Chapter, and IEEE Singapore Signal Processing Society cordially invite you to participate in the upcoming Nanyang Speech Technology Forum and submit/nominate any students’ research work to compete for the Best Student Paper Awards. Both journal and conference papers which were accepted or published between 1 January 2023 to 31 July 2024 are eligible to be included. The submission/nomination deadline is 16 September 2024

All the received submissions will be briefly reviewed by the organizers based on the relevance of research topics, quality of the work, etc. The shortlisted submissions will be invited for oral presentation at the Forum. A review panel which consists of at least 5 experts in the research field will assess the technical quality of the work as well as the oral presentation performance. The presenter must be a student.

The presenters of the shortlisted submissions will enjoy the privilege of registration fee waived.

Awards and Prizes

  • Best Student Paper Awards: Cash prize of S$300 each
  • Honourable Mention Awards: Cash prize of S$100 each

Eligibility

  1. The main contributor of the research paper must be a registered student (full-time or part-time) at the time of submitting the manuscript for publication.
  2. The paper must report only the work done when the author was a student.
  3. The journal/conference paper must be accepted or published between 1 January 2023 to 31 July 2024.
  4. The work must not have been previously submitted to the NSTF before.
  5. Topics include but are not limited to:
  • Automatic Speech Recognition
  • Speaker and Language Identification / Anti-spoofing
  • Text-to-Speech and Voice Conversion
  • Speech Enhancement / Microphone Array
  • Speech Separation / Speaker Extraction / Speaker Diarization
  • Audio, Music and Signal Processing
  • Spoken Dialogue and Conversational AI Systems
  • Pronunciation Scoring / Education / Resources and Evaluation
  • Trustworthy Speech Technologies / Speaker Anonymization / Deepfake Detection
  • Speech LLM / End-to-end speech technology
  • Other Speech/Audio Areas
  1. One student can only present ONE research paper.
  2. For a paper co-authored by several students, only one submission will be considered.

Submission Instructions

  1. Please submit your paper from
  2. Please attach the following documents:
    a) A pdf copy of the accepted paper as published or to be published.
    b) A pdf copy of the acceptance notification letter/email from the journal editor or the conference organizers.
    c) The supervisor’s supporting or acknowledgement email.
    d) Other optional supporting documents can include the reviewer’s comments, the statement from the supervisor, etc.
