Introduction
The 24th Chinese Lexical Semantics Workshop (CLSW 2023) will be held on 19-21 May 2023 in Singapore, organized by the Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). We cordially invite you to submit papers to the workshop.
The Chinese Lexical Semantic Workshop (CLSW) is jointly initiated by Professor Chin-Chuan Cheng, Academician of Academia Sinica and Chair Professor of the University of Illinois, Professor Shiwen Yu of Peking University, and Professor Chu-ren Huang, Chair Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Since the first workshop in 2000, CLSW has been held in different Asian cities, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei, Singapore, Xiamen, Hsin Chu, Yantai, Suzhou, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Macao, Leshan, Jiayi, Nanjing, Fuzhou. Over the years, CLSW has become one of the most important venues for scholars to report and discuss the latest progress in Chinese Lexical Semantics and related fields, including Theoretical Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computational Lexicography, Phycological Linguistics, and Sociological linguistics. CLSW has significantly impacted and promoted academic research and application development in the fields.
Publication and Best Paper
Accepted papers will be included in workshop proceedings. After the conference, the program committee will select high-quality papers to be included in post-conference proceedings. The authors of selected papers will be required to submit papers in English for a second review, after which the proceedings will be published by Springer in the LNAI series, enter EI, SCOPUS and other indexings, and be included in Google Scholar academic publications statistics.
In addition, excellent papers from the workshop will be recommended for consideration for publication in leading journals such as the Journal of Zhengzhou University(Natural Science Edition), Lingua Sinica, The International Journal of Knowledge and Language Processing (IJKLP), International Journal of Asian Language Processing(IJALP), etc.
The top-ranking papers will receive the Best Paper Awards.
Conference Topics
CLSW welcomes submissions on any aspect of Chinese lexical semantics in general, as well as related fields more broadly concerned with language. It aims to cover a wide range of research topics including, but not limited to, the following:

- Construction of Chinese lexical resources, such as dictionaries, thesauri, ontology, wordnet, and semantically tagged corpora.

- Theories, technologies, tools, methods, and guidelines for semantic annotation.

- Lexical semantic representation and processing models for cognition and computation.

- Applications of Chinese lexical semantics on natural language processing, including but not limited to emotion, fake news, humor, irony, lying, metaphor, etc.

- Ontological study of lexical and semantic problems in modern Chinese.

- Inter-disciplinary studies on lexical semantics involving any of the following and/or other fields: big data, clinical linguistics, cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, deep/machine learning, digital humanities, distributional semantics, information retrieval, intercultural communication, knowledge representation, language acquisition, language variations, machine translation, neuro-/psycho-linguistics, semantic computing, theory of mind, etc.

- Recent advancements in Lexical Semantics, including theories and methodologies.

Submission Guidelines

- Submissions can be long abstracts (4-6 pages) or full papers (8-15 pages) written in either Chinese or English.

- Authors must submit electronic files formatted as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. (Template files:English Template,Chinese Template)

- All submissions for review must be anonymous. Information that may reveal the identities of the authors must be removed from the draft.

- An author may submit at most one single-author or first-author paper.
