Past International Conferences Organized by COLIPS:

25th Pacific Asia Conference on Language, Information and Computation (PACLIC 25)
December 16-18, 2011, Singapore

The 25th Pacific Asia Conference on Language, Information and Computation (PACLIC 25) will be held in Singapore on December 16-18, 2011, hosted by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS). The PACLIC series of conferences emphasize the synergy of theoretical analysis and processing of language, and provides a forum for researchers in different fields of language study in the Pacific-Asia region to share their findings and interests in the formal and empirical study of languages. Organized under the auspices of PACLIC Steering Committee, PACLIC 25 will be the latest instalment of our long standing collaborative efforts among theoretical and computational linguists in the Pacific-Asia region.
International Conference on Asian Language Proceesing 2011 (IALP 2011) November 15-17, 2011, Penang, Malaysia

International Conference on Asian Language Processing 2011 (IALP 2011) will be held in Penang, Malaysia on Nov 15-17, 2011. This conference will be jointly organized by Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS) of Singapore and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). We will continue to work with IEEE Computer Society to publish the conference proceesings.
International Conference on Asian Language Proceesing 2010 (IALP 2010) Dec. 28-30, 2010, Harbin, China

International Conference on Asian Language Processing 2010 (IALP 2010) will be held in Harbin, China on Dec 28-30, 2010. This conference will be jointly organized by Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS) of Singapore and Heilongjiang Institute of Technology (HIT), China. We will continue to work with IEEE to publish the conference proceesings.

IALP 2009
Dec 7-9, 2009, Singapore

The International Conference on Asian Language Processing (IALP) is a series of conference with unique focus on Asian Language Processing. The conference aims to advance the science and technology of all the aspect of Asian Language Processing by providing a forum for researchers in different fields of language study all over the world to meet. The first meeting of IALP was hold in Singapore in 1986 and was called ICCC (International Conference on Chinese Computing). This meeting initiated the studies of Chinese and oriental languages processing in Singapore and resulted in the formation of COLIPS in Singapore in 1988, and later, the publication of the journal titled Journal of Chinese Language and Computing since 1991.

Last year, IALP 2008 was held in Chiang Mai University, Thailand and the proceedings was indexed by ISTP/ISI. The IALP 2009 will be held in Singapore and co-organized by COLIPS and IEEE Singapore Computer Chapter. The proceedings has been accepted by IEEE CPS (Conference Publication Services) for publication. IEEE CPS will submit it for indexing in EI, ISTP/ISI and Current Contents on Diskette (http://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps)

ACL-IJCNLP-2009
Aug 2-7, 2009, Singapore.
A Joint Conference of the 47th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) and 4th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing (IJCNLP) will be held in Singapore on August 2-7, 2009. The conference will be jointly organized by ACL, AFNLP and COLIPS.

COLIPS organizes two co-located workshops at ACL-IJCNLP 2009:

    Aug 2-9, 2009, Singapore    .
    A Joint Conference of the 47th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) and 4th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing (IJCNLP) will be held in Singapore on August 2-7, 2009. The conference will be organized by ACL, AFNLP and COLIPS.

  • International Conference on Asian Language Proceesing 2008 (IALP 2008) Nov. 12-14, 2008, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
    International Conference on Asian Language Proceesing 2008 (IALP 2008) will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from Nov. 12, 2008 to Nov.14, 2008. This conference was jointly organized by Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS) of Singapore and Department of Computer Science, Chiang Mai University of Thailand. 

  • Chinese Lexical Semantics Workshop
    July 14-17, 2008, Singapore.
    The Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society of Singapore (COLIPS) is pleased to announce that the 9th Chinese Lexical Semantics Workshop (CLSW-2008) was held on July 14-17 2008 in the National University of Singapore.

  • International Conference on Chinese Computing(ICCC) 2007
    Oct 13-15, 2007, Wuhan, China
    International Conference on Chinese Computing 2007 was held in Wuhan University, China, on October 13-15, 2007. This conference was jointly hosted by Center for Study of Language and Information (CSLI) of Wuhan University, Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing Society (COLIPS) of Singapore and Association for Chinese Information Processing of China. The 5th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing, organized by the Asian Federation of Natural Language Processing will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand on November 7-13, 2011. The conference will cover a broad spectrum of technical areas related to natural language and computation. IJCNLP 2011 will include full papers, short papers, oral presentations, poster presentations, demonstrations, tutorials, and workshops.

Oriental COCOSDA 2011
October 26-28, 2011, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan

The oriental chapter of COCOSDA (The International Committee for the Co-ordination and Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Techniques) is pleased to announce that the 14th Oriental COCOSDA Conference will be held on Oct. 26-28, in Hsinchu, Taiwan hosted by the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Oriental COCOSDA is an international conference held annually by the oriental chapter of COCOSDA. Oriental COCOSDA conference in Taiwan will help in boosting the research and development in the field of Speech Technology and will help in enthusing the interest towards Speech Technology in East and Southeast Asia.

ROCLING 2011 Conference
September 8-9, 2011, National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan

The 23rd ROCLING Conference will be held at National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, on September 8-9, 2011.

Sponsored by Association for Computational Linguistics and Chinese Language Processing (ACLCLP), ROCLING is the most historied and major conference in the broad field of computational linguistics, speech processing, and related areas in Taiwan. ROCLING XXIII will be hosted by the Department of Electronic Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology. The two-day conference will feature invited talks, paper, and poster sessions. ROCLING XXIII invites submissions of original and unpublished research papers on all areas of computational linguistics, natural language processing, and speech processing.

    The oriental chapter of COCOSDA (The International Committee for the Co-ordination and Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Techniques) is pleased to announce that the 10th Oriental COCOSDA Workshop will be held on Dec. 4-6, in Hanoi, Vietnam hosted by the Institute of Information Technology, Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology.
