International Conference on Asian Language Processing 2010

Harbin, China, Dec 28-30, 2010

Paper Submission (for review)

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions must describe substantial, original, completed and unpublished work. Wherever appropriate, concrete evaluation and analysis should be included. Submissions will be judged on correctness, originality, technical strength, significance, relevance to the conference, and interest to the attendees. Each submission will be reviewed by three program committee members. Accepted papers will be presented in one of the oral sessions or poster sessions as determined by the program committee.

As the reviewing will be blind, manuscripts must not include the authors' names and affiliations. Authors should ensure that their identities are not revealed in any way in the paper. Self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...", must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...". Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review.

Paper Format:

All submissions must be electronic and in Portable Document Format (PDF) only. Paper submissions should follow the IEEE Proceedings' two-column format without exceeding four (4) pages including references. We strongly recommend the use of the LaTeX style files or Microsoft Word style files according to IEEE Proceedings' format. Submissions must conform to the official style guidelines.

Languages:

The official language of the conference is English. However, the conference will accept papers written in Chinese and arrange some sessions in which the presentation will be delivered in Mandarin. Paper submmisions in Chinese must have English title and abstract, and follow the same paper format as English ones. Both Chinese and English papers will be reviewed with the same standard and included into conference proceedings.

Final Paper Submission (for publication)

Congratulations on having your paper accepted for publication in the proceedings of the 2010 International Conference on Asian Languages Processing (IALP 2010). Please note the following instructions in your preparation and submission of your final paper as it will be published in the proceedings.

Editorial advices:

Please take note of the following when revising your final paper:

  • Please follow the formatting advice strictly. Otherwise, the editor will have right to remove the paper from the conference proceedings.
  • Please check your English writing carefully. Papers with grammar problems will be removed by the editor even if the conference has accepted them earlier.
  • For Chinese author names, please place family name after given name.
  • Papers written in Chinese MUST have English title, author names, addresses, abstract and keywords. If the paper also include Chinese title, author names, addresses, abstract and keywords, they should be placed after English ones.
  • English paper should not consist of references in Chinese and other Asian languages. They should be translated into English.
  • Examples in other languages in the English papers should have English translations.
Format:

Your final papers MUST be formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting Guidelines without exceeding four (4) pages, including all figures, tables, and references. It is highly recommended that you proofread and check the layout of your paper BEFORE submitting it to PDF eXpressTM (referring to formatting instructions and style files below).

PDF eXpressTM is IEEE's online file conversion/PDF validation tool, to assist authors in preparing suitable electronic files of their final papers. PDF eXpressTM helps authors convert their papers into IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF files (conversion function) or to check their own PDF files for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF validation function).

Note that PDF eXpressTM is not a file submission system and does not capture files. An author's file simply passes through the system returning a PDF file or an error report. After using PDF eXpressTM, you will still need to submit the IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF file of your final paper to the IEEE Conference Publishing Service (CPS).

If you would like to create your own PDF file, please change the setting on your PDF distiller to ensure your paper meets IEEE PDF specifications. Basic PDF distiller settings MUST be changed to:

  • Optimized,
  • Acrobat 5.0 compatibility,
  • ALL graphics at least 300 dpi resolution (higher if preferred),
  • ALL fonts MUST be embedded and subset,
  • Postscript settings DO NOT override distiller settings,
  • Page size is A4.

Important Deadlines:
  • Paper submission deadline: September 24, 2010 (Please ignore the deadline on CPS submission system, which is obsolete.)
  • Copyright release deadline: September 24, 2010
  • Author registration deadline: September 30, 2010
